Peacock will launch with a select group of top brand sponsors, bringing in hundreds of millions of initial advertising revenue. Peacock’s launch sponsors include Eli Lilly and Company, State Farm, Target and Unilever. Each launch sponsor will have the exclusive opportunity to define Peacock’s new advertising experience to give consumers the best content at the best price: free. Peacock tv included with xfinity Peacock is currently available on Android, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Xbox One, Vizio SmartCast TVs, and LG Smart TV. It’ll have an app released for the PlayStation 4 during the week of July 20th. There’s also a desktop web player for streaming on Mac, Windows, and Chromebook devices.

The exec offered the streaming update after Comcast reported strong third-quarter earnings, citing gains in broadband customers and Tokyo Olympics advertising revenue. The company’s earnings release did not include any stats from Peacock, a departure from the past five quarters. Until Shell’s comments 45 minutes into the call, the service was not mentioned in any detail. Last July, the company said Peacock had 54 million active accounts as of June 30, with 20 million of them classified as active monthly viewers. NBCU has projected it will reach 30 million to 35 million active users by 2024. TV Acquisitions: Yeah. I don’t really want to get a flex box either. I know it is supposedly free but I always worry about Xfinity tacking on extra fees. I was thinking we could just use our credentials to sign into the app but maybe they are requiring you to have a flex box in order to get the premium peacock for free.

When does Peacock launch?

So, I’m not 100% if this is the case. I did get a Flex box (for free) and signed through Peacock premium through that, but then I went to the Peacock website and set up a password and now I get the premium version without using the Flex box. Not sure if there is a way to sign up without the Flex box, but there might be. The Walt Disney Company Dana Strong, president of consumer services at Comcast Cable, also noted that “viewing on every dimension of our platform is up during this period,” with a year-over-year increase of two hours per day per household, as well as a 50% increase in video-on-demand viewing.

Peacock recommends download speeds of at least 2.5 Mbps for buffer-free streaming. However, that number assumes you’ll only be using your internet connection on one device at a time. If you want to watch Peacock while you browse Facebook or at the same time as someone else in the house streams Netflix, you’ll probably need a stronger connection.
